The Process

Step 1: Book a Consultation

This is a quick, 15-minute phone or video call where I might ask you some questions about:

  • Your motivation to seek out therapy.

  • Your previous therapy experience(s). It’s okay if this is your first time!

  • Aspects of your identity: gender, sexuality, culture, spirituality, background, etc.

This is your first chance to get a sense of what it would be like to work with me. You can use this opportunity to ask me questions about my approach and/or the way I run my practice. If we both feel it’s a good fit, we can move on to Step 2!

Step 2: Schedule your Intake Appointment. 

This is your first full session. I’ll spend a little time giving the typical therapist spiel around confidentiality, cancellation/late policies and payments. 

Then we get to move on to the juicy stuff:

  • Where you grew up and who was around.

  • What your relationships were like growing up.

  • Any physical health conditions or challenges, current or historical.

  • Substance use and what place it has in your life.

  • Your goals for therapy.

  • Your current strategies for self care.

And that’s it! Welcome to therapy. You’re gonna love it.

Rates

$190 per 50 minute session

Insurance

All sessions are paid out-of-pocket. Depending on your health insurance plan, it is possible for services to be reimbursed by your insurance company. Call your insurance provider to find out whether or not your plan compensates you for therapy.
